Become a Community Partner

No. We work with registered charities and non-profits, but also with informal community groups such as minor hockey associations, 4-H clubs, and church groups that may not have formal charitable status. If your organization has roots in an Alberta community and a way to receive a donation, through a bank account or a parent body that can accept one on your behalf, you qualify. If you are not sure whether your group fits, apply anyway and we will tell you directly rather than leave you guessing.

Range Road Solar makes a donation to your organization for every completed solar install that comes through your referral code. We confirm the specifics with your organization directly when you sign up, rather than advertising one flat number here, because every project is different. The donation is paid out after the installation is complete and commissioned, not at the quote or contract stage, so there is no risk of a payment being promised on a project that later falls through.

Tell us when you apply. We check our records against the date your organization signed up, and if the household's project has not yet been invoiced, we can usually still attribute it to your code. We would rather have that conversation honestly than have your organization feel shortchanged over timing.

No. Every household, farm, or acreage that goes solar through your organization's code counts, whether that is one family this year or a dozen over several years. There is no quota on the program and no expiry date on the code itself.

No. You share your code or link in your newsletter, on your Facebook page, or at a meeting, and we take it from there. We do not ask your organization to track leads, qualify anyone, or follow up. If someone in your community reaches out to us and mentions your organization, we attach the referral on our end.

Yes. Range Road Solar is built for rural Alberta, for farms, acreages, and small towns, not just the Edmonton to Calgary corridor. Some of our strongest referral activity comes from exactly the kind of organizations this program is built for, a legion branch, a 4-H club, or a minor hockey association in a town of a few hundred people, where everyone already knows everyone and word travels fast.

Yes. A food bank, a legion branch, and a minor hockey association in the same town can each have their own referral code and each earn their own donation. A household that goes solar picks which organization to credit when they request their quote, so there is no competition between codes, only more community groups benefiting from the same program.
