Who We Serve
Built for Properties
That Work for a Living.
We install solar on Alberta farms, acreages, and rural shops. Our clients run real electrical loads: grain bins, shop equipment, irrigation, livestock systems, heated buildings. We size systems around actual usage. Not best-case assumptions. One of our busiest corridors runs through Airdrie and the surrounding Rocky View County acreages.
Farms & grain operations
High seasonal loads, large roof or yard space
Acreage homes
Year-round residential loads, land available
Rural shops & businesses
Heavy equipment, heating, consistent draw
Properties with land
Ground-mount where the roof isn't the right fit

See It On Your Land
Dawn to Dark, Roof and Ground.
Rooftop array on the house, ground-mount in the yard — this is what a working rural system looks like through a full day. Flip the light and see it for yourself.

Every design starts from your actual bills and your actual site.
Request a DesignHow Solar Works
From sunlight to a smaller bill
No mystery, no magic. Five steps between the sun over your land and credits on your power bill.

The sun does the work
Alberta gets 2,200–2,400 sun hours a year — some of the best solar exposure in Canada. Every one of those hours, light is landing on your roof or your quarter section for free.

Panels turn light into power
All-black monocrystalline panels convert sunlight into DC electricity. Cold improves their efficiency — a bright January day at -25°C is good production weather.

The inverter makes it usable
Inverters convert that DC into the same 240V AC power your home, shop, and barn already run on. No change to your wiring, your outlets, or how you use power.

Your loads get fed first
Solar power supplies your house and outbuildings before anything touches the grid. Every kilowatt-hour you make and use is one you don't buy.

Surplus earns credits
Extra production flows to the grid and your utility credits your account under Alberta's Micro-generation Regulation. Overproduce in summer, draw those credits down through winter.
How It Works
Four Steps from
Bill to System.
Review Your Power Bills
We start with 12 months of actual usage data. No guessing. System size is based on what you actually consume.
Design Around Real Usage
We size your system to maximize your offset, as large as your property, electrical service, and MicroGen regulations will allow. Roof or ground-mount, whichever fits your site.
Handle Utility & Engineering
We manage the FortisAlberta, ATCO, EPCOR, EQUS, or your local REA interconnection application, engineering sign-off, and permits. You don't chase paperwork.
Install and Commission
Our crew installs the system. We commission it, verify production, and walk you through the monitoring. Done.

The Financial Logic
Stop Renting
Your Electricity.
Every month you pay a power bill, that money is gone. Solar puts what you're already spending toward an asset you own. The math works when the system is sized right and the equipment lasts.
Your money goes into an asset
Every month you pay a power bill, that money is gone. Solar puts what you're already spending toward equipment you own, a real asset on your property.
Bigger systems pay back faster
We size your system as large as your property, electrical service, and MicroGen regulations will allow. A properly oversized system maximizes your offset and shortens your payback period.
Realistic payback timelines
Most rural Alberta solar systems fall in the 8–10 year payback range. For corporations and farm operations using available tax incentives, some projects achieve payback as low as 5–7 years.
Long equipment life
Modern panels carry 30-year power production warranties. After an initial ~2% stabilization in year one, annual degradation runs around 0.5% per year. After 25 years, your system is still producing approximately 87% of its original output.

We had an amazing experience with Range Road Solar. From the very beginning, they were professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was done right. The whole process was explained clearly, and there was no pressure at any point, which made it a lot less stressful. The installation was smooth and efficient, and everything was completed on time. You can tell they take pride in their work and really care about their customers. If you're thinking about going solar, I'd definitely recommend Range Road Solar. Great service, honest people, and high-quality work.

Couldn't be happier with how this turned out. We have an acreage with a shop and fairly high usage, and Jonathan designed a system specifically around how we actually use power instead of just trying to sell the biggest system possible. By the end of summer we had built up a huge bank of credits, and it covered our winter bills with a few hundred dollars still sitting there afterward. Honest company and really solid install crew.

We were skeptical about solar at first, but Range Road Solar made the whole thing simple. Jim explained everything in plain English and focused on whether it actually made financial sense for us. Our system overproduced all summer and built enough credits to carry us through the winter with money still left over. Pretty wild seeing our power bills basically disappear.
