The Basics
Solar panels contain photovoltaic (PV) cells that convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter converts this DC power to alternating current (AC) that your home or building uses. When your panels produce more than you need, the excess flows to the grid. When you need more than your panels produce, you draw from the grid as normal.
The system operates automatically. There is nothing to switch on or off. A production meter records how much electricity your system generates, and your utility bill reflects the net of what you consumed versus what you exported.

Solar in Alberta's Climate
Annual Sunshine
Alberta receives 300 to 330 sunny days per year — more than most Canadian provinces. This translates to strong annual solar production.
Winter Performance
Solar panels generate electricity from daylight, not heat. Cold temperatures improve panel efficiency. Winter production is lower than summer but still meaningful.
Snow
Snow temporarily reduces output but sheds naturally on most roof pitches within a day or two of accumulation. Ground-mount systems can be cleared manually if needed.
Hail
Modern solar panels are tested to withstand hail impacts. We use panels with IEC 61215 certification, which includes hail impact testing.
From Consultation to Commissioning
Power Bill Review
We review the 12-month usage graph on your most recent power bill to understand your consumption and size the system correctly for your property.
Site Assessment
We visit your property to assess roof or land conditions, shading, electrical service, and utility interconnection requirements.
Design and Utility Application
We produce a system layout, production estimate, and cost summary, then submit your micro-generation application to your utility.
Installation
Our crew installs racking, panels, inverter, and electrical connections. All work is performed by licensed electricians.
Inspection and Commissioning
A licensed electrical inspector inspects the completed installation. After inspection approval, the system is commissioned and connected to the grid.
