Terms of Service

Last updated: April 19, 2026

These terms govern your relationship with Range Road Solar. We've written them in plain language. If you have questions before signing a project agreement, call us at (587) 330-7502.

1. Agreement to Terms

By requesting a quote, signing a project agreement, or engaging Range Road Solar Ltd. for any services, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms apply to all customers in Alberta, Canada. If you do not agree, do not proceed with a project agreement.

Range Road Solar Ltd. is a solar installation company registered in Alberta, Canada. Our registered business address is in Alberta. For questions about these terms, contact us at admin@rangeroadsolar.com or (587) 330-7502.

2. Services

Range Road Solar designs and installs grid-tied solar systems, ground-mount solar systems, and related electrical equipment for residential, agricultural, and commercial properties in Alberta.

Services are provided under a written project agreement signed by both parties before any work begins. The project agreement defines the scope of work, equipment specifications, pricing, and timeline. These Terms of Service apply in addition to the project agreement. In the event of a conflict, the project agreement governs.

We do not guarantee specific energy production levels. Solar output depends on weather, shading, system orientation, and other factors outside our control. We provide production estimates based on industry-standard modelling tools, and those estimates are projections only.

3. Quotes and Proposals

All quotes and proposals are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated. Quotes are based on information provided by the customer at the time of the site assessment. Changes to the scope of work, site conditions, or utility requirements discovered after the quote is issued may result in revised pricing.

A signed project agreement and deposit are required to secure your installation date. We do not hold installation slots without a signed agreement.

4. Payment Terms

Payment terms are defined in your project agreement. Typically, a deposit is required upon signing, with the balance due upon substantial completion of the installation.

Overdue balances accrue interest at 2% per month (24% per annum). Range Road Solar reserves the right to place a builder's lien on the property for unpaid balances in accordance with Alberta's Builders' Lien Act.

We accept e-transfer, bank draft, and cheque. Credit card payments may be accepted at our discretion and may be subject to a processing fee.

5. Permits and Utility Interconnection

Range Road Solar manages the permit and utility interconnection process on your behalf as part of the project. This includes electrical permits, municipal building permits where required, and the utility interconnection application.

Permit timelines are controlled by the relevant municipality and utility provider. We are not responsible for delays caused by permit offices or utilities. We will keep you informed of the status and escalate on your behalf where possible.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the property is accessible for inspections and that any required upgrades to the electrical service entrance (meter base, panel, etc.) are completed prior to or as part of the project, as outlined in the project agreement.

6. Warranties

Equipment warranties are provided by the manufacturer and are passed through to the customer. Typical warranty terms are:

— Solar panels: 25-year product warranty, 25-year linear power output warranty — Inverters: 10–25 years depending on manufacturer and model — Racking and mounting hardware: 10–25 years depending on manufacturer

Range Road Solar provides a 2-year workmanship warranty on all installations. This covers defects in installation quality, including roof penetrations, wiring, and mounting. It does not cover damage caused by severe weather events, acts of God, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear.

Warranty claims must be submitted in writing to admin@rangeroadsolar.com. We will respond within 5 business days and schedule any required service work within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Limitation of Liability

Range Road Solar's total liability to any customer for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer under the project agreement.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost energy savings, lost revenue, or damage to property caused by equipment failure outside our workmanship warranty.

We are not responsible for changes to utility net metering programs, government incentive programs, or electricity rates that affect the financial return of your solar system after installation.

8. Intellectual Property

All designs, proposals, system drawings, and documentation produced by Range Road Solar remain our intellectual property until full payment has been received. Upon full payment, the customer receives a licence to use the documentation for the purposes of operating and maintaining their solar system.

You may not reproduce or distribute our proposals, designs, or documentation for commercial purposes without written consent.

9. Cancellation

Either party may cancel the project agreement before work begins by providing written notice. If the customer cancels after signing and before installation begins, the deposit may be retained by Range Road Solar to cover design, permitting, and administrative costs already incurred.

If Range Road Solar cancels the project for reasons within our control, the deposit will be refunded in full within 10 business days.

Once installation has begun, cancellation is subject to the terms in the project agreement.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Alberta.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The current version will always be available at rangeroadsolar.com/terms. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
